Dr. Bregman has now passed the NEFAS torch onto one of his former residents and now his colleauge: Dr. Filza Khan.  A highly energetic and caring professional she has received many accolades and awards throughout her medical career including academic scholarships and awards from her peers.  Dr. Khan was personally trained by Dr. Bregman while completing her training at Cambridge Hospital, a Harvard affiliated program and  is recognized as one of the top Podiatric programs in the country.   During her 3 year surgical residency in 20052007, she was elected Chief resident, which is a very prestigious honor. Her training is well rounded and includes Foot and Ankle reconstruction, focusing on treatment of Bunions and hammertoes and diabetic foot problems.  Our practice specializes in flatfoot  repair, traumatic injuries, tendon problems, revisional surgery, adult and pediatric foot reconstruction.

Dr. Khan has been employed as an associate in Connecticut but is anxious to practice in Massachusetts to make it her home.  Dr. Khan also has been intimately involved with diabetic wound care, she is “wound certified”.  Her training and background has allowed her to understand and treat complicated foot and ankle conditions with or without diabetes. She works with the patient as a whole to provide various options for non-surgical and surgical treatment plans geared towards individual patient needs and expectations.  Dr. Khan believes in continuously learning and applying the latest innovative techniques to get you back on your feet as soon as possible. She has done so by taking certified training courses in advanced sports medicine techniques, arthroscopic techniques as well as minimally invasive heel treatments, endoscopic gastrocnemius release and digital nerve decompression (Morton’s neuroma).
